Payment

A deposit of £150 is required on reservation. This will also act as the damage deposit which will be returned within 7 days of the hire period finishing provided the caravan is returned reasonably clean and definetly undamaged, The full hire charge must be paid 4 weeks prior to commencement of hire. Payment by cheque or credit card [paypal]

Drivers.

Drivers must be over 25 and under 70, and have held a full driving licence for at least one year.

Collection and Return

Hire Periods commence at 4pm on the first day of hiring. Our base is situated between Caen and Villedieu Les Poeles close to the main A84 motorway. Caravans must be returned by 11 am on the last day of hire. Late returns may be liable to lose part of their deposit.

Insurance

Cashmores caravans are insured by accredited industries experts. With self tow caravans it is the responsibility of the hirer to inform your own insurance company you intend to use your car for towing abroad, as the third party risk in respect of the caravan must by LAW be covered by the insurance company of the vehicle that will be towing the caravan. As I understand it is possible that a third party may make a claim whilst the insured is towing, against the car policy holder. A currant certificate of insurance of your tow car must be produced prior to the time of collection. We insure our caravans against accidential damage,thieft and public liability. As a rough guide, If the hire caravan is not hooked up to your car byway of towing,its our responsibility; If while towing our caravan you have an accident it might be your fault where the third party or my insurance company might claim against you. Just inform your insurance company that you are towing a caravan so you are covered and there is no get out for the insurance company. We cannot accept any responsibility for any damage or loss of your personal property whatsoever,and we strongly recommend you take out holiday insurance which includes hospitalisation, accident, personal goods and car breakdown cover

Liabilities limitations and Insurance Conditions

  • The hirer shall not allow the caravan to be towed by any other person other than authoriesd and insured drivers
  • Tow the caravan is excess of the speed limit
  • Lend or hire the caravan to a third party
  • Create a lien or claim on the hired caravan for any reason whatsoever
  • Leave the Caravan empty overnight
  • Wheel clamp or Hitch lock if left during the day
  • Cause no willful damage

A Registration plate for the caravan is provide

Log book [V5]or licence renewal [V11] or letter of authority on company headed paper, together with one of; passport or driving licence must be shown at time of hiring to satisfy DVLA regulations prior to fitting of registration plate on caravan. No exceptions

Cancellations

Cancellations will lose their deposit.We will try our hardest to re book the cancelled week. If we do we charge £50 cancellation fee but no promises. No refunds if cancelled four weeks or less from hire date.

Delivery

Delivery can be discussed.

How to loose part or all of your deposit.

If the caravan is damaged during the hire period then the cost of repair will be deducted from the deposit. Your liability is limited to your deposit. If items from the inventory are lost or broken the replacement cost will be deducted from the deposit. A charge of £50 will be made if the cassette toilet is not emptied.If you bring the caravan back later than agreed it might upset the next hirer.
